This autumn winter 2022 is a complex mix of minimalist style and bright jewel shades. Whether you prefer the minimal, monochromatic tones of late or you want to inject something more vibrant into your wardrobe, there is something for everyone.
As with any new season, only consider adding items to an existing capsule which complement what you already own. It is much easier, in general, to stick to canvas colours and have a few paint colours to highlight. Paint colours tend to be brighter, whilst canvas colours are neutral. A capsule wardrobe consisting mainly of canvas colours will mix and match easier, enabling you to create outfits easily.
This season autumn winter 2022 is a measured mix of canvas and paint shades. Stone, olive, and silver grey sit alongside fuchsia, red, lilac and wine. The warm earthy tones work well with canvas shades, so add a few into the mix to update your wardrobe.

If you add some seasonal shades for autumn winter 2022 to your capsule, remember the three-colour rule – try to only wear up to three colours per outfit. Patterns are also significant this season, so wear one print with basic block colours to make the most of the design and not cause overwhelm.
The classic biker jacket is still around, and this season it is worn with printed maxi dresses for that 1990s vibe.
With any new season, think about your existing capsule wardrobe and the colours and styles you already own. Make sure anything you add will complement your capsule and not become an item of clothing you never wear because you have nothing to wear it with.
If this season has a shade you own, it will be easy to update it with a new style.
If you struggle with creating outfits and suffer from decision fatigue, I recommend keeping bright paint colours and patterns to a minimum.
